Radioshack Nissan Trek are getting ready for the second race of the season which is Tour of Qatar, running from Sunday Feb 5th to Friday Feb 10th, 2012.
The race started in 2002, and it has grown more popular each year.
11 pro teams will participate, and Radioshack Nissan Trek will compete against BMC Racing Team, FDJ-BigMat, Garmin-Barracuda, GreenEdge, Katusha, Liquigas-Cannondale, Lotto-Belisol, Omega Pharma-Quick Step, Rabobank and Sky Pro Cycling.
Pro Continental and Continental teams: Bridgestone Anchor Pro Cycling Team, Champion System, Giant Kenda Pro Cycling Team, Skil-1t4i and Farnese Neri Cycling Team
Tour of Qatar consists of six stages, covering a total distance of 724 km.
Stage 1: Barzan Towers > Doha Golf Club / February 5th
Stage 2: Lusail > Lusail / February 6th
Stage 3: Dukhan > Al Gharafa Stadium / February 7th
Stage 4: Al Thakhira > Madinat Al Shamal / February 8th
Stage 5: Camel Race Track > Al Khor Corniche / February 9th
Stage 6: Sealine Beach Resort > Doha Corniche / February 10th
All stages are flat, making it a competition between the sprinter experts in the field.
Stage 2 is an 11km long team time trial.
